5 Ways Cim50 Will Speed Up Your Manufacturing Processes

Although relatively new, Cim50 is the perfect software alternative to Sage 50 Manufacturing, which is no longer supported by Sage. In fact, Sage themselves favour and endorse Cim50 over their own legacy manufacturing product.
Cim50 easily integrates with Sage 50cloud Accounts and boasts a modular design, so you can pick and choose which capabilities to utilise within your business. With modular products such as Cim50, business processes can be kept as simple or as intricate as you’d like.

From enhanced stock control capabilities to powerful quotation enhancements, Cim50 provides users with the control and confidence they need from their business-critical software.
But, how exactly will Cim50 help your business run more efficiently?

Cim50 Capabilities

Cim50 offers more features for manufacturers to utilise than Sage 50 Manufacturing ever did. From serial number traceability to new stock metrics that can be tailored to suit your business requirements, Cim50 offers all the features a small-mid size manufacturing business could ever need.

Here’s 5 key features that will ensure your business processes run more efficiently…

  1. Enhanced Stock Control
The Cim50 Stock Control module mirrors the available fields within Sage 50cloud Accounts, allowing users to access all stock records from 1 screen. This means no switching between systems to view necessary stock information, which speeds up processes and increases productivity.

The Stock Control module also features enhanced sales order and purchase order capabilities. Sales/purchase orders can be despatched using the Stock Control module and multiple sales order deliveries can be combined onto one delivery note and invoice, saving valuable business time and resources.

  1. Detailed Quotations
Using the Cim50 Quotations module, detailed quotations can be created for manufactured items, and they can be configured on the fly from within the record itself.

Once a quote has been accepted, a sales, purchase or works order can be raised straight away from directly within the quote. No data has to be reinputted, speeding up the manufacturing process and ensuring the order goes through exactly as set out on the invoice.

The Quotations module also allows users to set up service and miscellaneous items on quotes for repeat use, which also speeds up the ordering and manufacturing process.

  1. More Effective Product Planning
The Cim50 Planning module is key to controlling stock levels and ensuring goods are manufactured and despatched on time.

Using the Planning module, users can anticipate customer demand by easily viewing and capturing data from sales/works orders and sales forecasts. In-demand products can be monitored using the “make for stock” feature.

The principle behind the “make for stock” demand is that users can tell Cim50 they want X amount of a product in stock on a certain date. Cim50 will then automatically raise recommendations to achieve that goal, ensuring stock is always available and you’re ahead of the game.

  1. Barcode Scanning on the Move
The Cim50 Shop Floor Data Capture (SFDC) module allows users to process stock transactions from the convenience of a handheld tablet.

Component stock, batch and serial numbers can all be scanned on-the-go and quickly allocated and issued to works orders. Stock counts can be quickly carried out and additional information such as supplier batch, supplier certificate and use by/sell by dates can be added to further improve the detail of your stock counts.

These additional features ensure stock levels are kept as up to date as possible and that components are always available, keeping your business running to schedule.

  1. Reduce Costs with Improved Material Tracking
With Cim50’s Bill of Materials module users can utilise multi-level bill of materials with the ability to build and reverse build items. The audit log feature allows changes to be tracked and provides a detailed costing history breakdown. This ensures records are maintained correctly and saves time when reviewing production costs.

The detailed costing breakdown within the Bill of Materials module captures material, labour and machine overheads, so users can be confident that their build and purchase costs are accurate. Exact costing breakdowns can be visualised using the on-screen chart, allowing users to quickly and easily envision where money can be saved during the production process.
