Sage 200 Brexit Update - January 2021

Now we have greater clarity as to the terms of the UK’s future trading relationship with the EU, it is important to check if there is any impact on your Sage software.

Sage have produced an informative ‘Business after Brexit’ E-Book which you can find via this link. You should also take guidance from your Accountants as to how your systems and processes need to change to remain compliant. The Onesys team are here to help you meet that compliance challenge.

If you currently trade with the EU, or plan to in the future, additional information will be required. These elements are in Sage from the Summer version of 2019 (v 12.00.0035) onwards:

  • Your EORI number (Economic Operators Registration and Identification number) needs to be entered in to your system (Sage 200 Summer 2019 edition or later).
  • Commodity Codes and Country of Origin information will need to be entered against your Stock Items. This can be done via Excel export/import if required.
  • Your Document Layouts will need to pull through the above information as well as specific information required for Irish exports.
The recently launched 2020 R2 release of Sage 200 is fully optimised for Brexit, the enhancements include:
  • Allows the GB Country Code to be set to ‘non-EU’
  • New VAT Codes for Import/Export relating to postponing VAT
  • SagePay has changed to Opayo
  • Import Online Card Transactions
More information on these changes can be found in the Sage Knowledgebase. It also has a number of other articles on Brexit and its potential impact on your software - these articles can be found here.

Please do not make any changes to your Sage 200 system without checking with us first.

So, if you import goods from or export goods to the EU, and these changes affect you, please contact your Account Manager on 01423 330335 Option 1 or email info@onesys.co.uk to discuss your requirements and to see how we can help.
