The Client

Invent Interiors are a textile manufacturer based in Keighley. Established in 2008 they weave fabrics for window blinds and work in a B2B market where they sell on to other businesses who make the finished products we see in our homes.

Laura has kindly given us her time to explain the process of buying Cim50 and how they use it within their business.

The Problem

Prior to using Cim50, Invent Interiors were Sage 50 Manufacturing users. In October 2020 Sage announced that they were no longer developing or supporting Sage 50 Manufacturing from December 2021.

Onesys had customers that needed to be migrated to a new solution and after careful selection, along with recommendation from Sage, partnered up with Cim. One of the main plus points of Cim50 is that it has a similar user interface to Sage 50 Manufacturing making user adoption straightforward.

Sage 50 Manufacturing was working fine for Invent Interiors but after joining the Onesys & Cim50 webinar they decided to implement Cim50 and haven’t looked back since!

The Solution

Laura explains their use of Cim50; ‘The fundamentals of Cim50 are very similar to that of Sage 50 Manufacturing but the planning side is much better. Cim50 feels more robust and any errors are fixed quickly and efficiently. Ultimately, we trust the integrity of the data within Cim50 so much more than we did with Sage 50 Manufacturing.’

‘We use Stock Control, Bill of Materials and Works Order Planning within Cim50. We convert yarn to finished fabric within Bill of Materials, 250 different yarns can go into a 1000 different products and Cim50 keeps track of all of that!’

‘The reporting within Cim50 is more feature rich and the report designer is good. The system is quick and works properly, it follows a logical process and you can get to where you need to be using multiple different screens’.
When asked about the implementation process Laura says ‘Cim50 was relatively easy to learn, it was a similar but improved interface to what we were used to. In the training, all questions were answered and it became clear it was the logical upgrade for us.

The Outcome

‘Overall, without having Cim50 we wouldn’t be able to manage our yarn portfolio, keep track of our stock and know it’s reliable. We really trust the system, which we didn’t with Sage 50 Manufacturing or Excel before that. It processes accurately and we know that if we’re looking for something within the system that it will be accurate. Cim50 gave us the flexibility to change our internal processes. We had to workaround Sage 50 Manufacturing whereas now we feel that Cim50 works with us and our business’.

Cim50 is trusted by over 500 SME Manufacturers in the UK and Ireland. Cim50 works whether you are just looking for enhanced Stock Control right through to those who are looking for a complete manufacturing package to control all aspects of their business.

Cim50 is a revolutionary product that gives you the control and confidence that you need from your business-critical software.
