How the Task Manager works with the Sage Timesheet software
The Sage Coretime Task Manager is a useful tool that allows tasks to be allocated to
staff members and the subsequent progress or completion of these tasks to be monitored
by the person who assigned the task.
Managers or administrators can set-up tasks for individuals or departments. These
tasks are then accessible from within the user's Time Entry module. The tasks can be
worked on by individual users and the task-status can be monitored by managers, system
administrators or those who assigned the task.
The following example shows the difference between an e-mail request to perform a task
and a Task Management request.
1. E-Mail
From: Joe To: Jane
Jane
Laurie from onesys has been on the phone looking for a progress report on your
Coretime assessment project. Can you complete the assessment and report when completed?
Thanks
Joe
The e-mail request arrives on Jane's computer. She may read it at the time of receipt.
Any progress on the assessment will not be known by Joe unless Jane sends him an e-mail
regarding the status. He may have to send more e-mails asking for progress updates.
2. Task Manager
- From: Joe
- To: Jane
- Supplier: Onesys
- Project: Coretime timesheet software
- Contact: Laurie
- Activity: Coretime Assessment
- Text: Please complete the assessment and report back to me
The task arrives on Jane's Task Page within her time recording module and she can
easily log time and notes to this task. Any work done on this task is immediately
available to Joe. Should Jane be unavailable for any reason, Joe can get up to the
minute progress information on the task status by clicking on his original request to
Jane and then clicking on 'Time Spent'.
You will benefit from time savings (easier to track and access) and cost-savings
(speedier completion of projects, fewer errors).
