The Problem

Karen Gregory at Drive Medical explains, “We originally started our business using Sage 50 before moving over to Sage Line 100 and over the years we have been acquiring customers that had been using systems such as Pegasus, Quickbooks and their own bespoke packages. We had to move these acquisitions over to our Sage Line 100 and we quickly found that we were outgrowing the system.

Karen continues, “We needed a system that could handle a higher number of users and transactions and to gain a better handle of Sales Order Processing and Credit control. We needed better visibility of management reports and an overall view of how our company was performing”.

“We needed a relationship with a Business Partner who wanted to get to know our business and how it operates, someone who could help us get the best from the software and enhance it when required”

The Solution

After consultancy from Onesys ISM Drive Medical decided to upgrade from Sage Line 100 to Sage 200 and the key areas of functionality for them was Sales Order Processing and managing the order book, controlling stock over the multiple warehouses and purchase order processing. The financial aspect of Sage 200 was also extremely important ensuring that it was all as streamlined as possible which has included the recent introduction of document management solutions to handle the processing of invoices and authorisation.

Drive have also made use of the CRM functionality within Sage 200 for both internal and external users to access the system for both account management and opportunity tracking. Reporting was also a huge factor in Drive Medical upgrading as the flexibility and visibility in Sage 200 was a great improvement to the reporting functionality they had previously.

Karen goes on to say that ‘With the help of Onesys ISM we have extensive internal knowledge of the Sage 200 system and find it easy to pass this knowledge on to new employees of Drive Medical or new business that we acquire’

Outcome

The benefits of using Sage 200 are very clear to Drive Medical. Karen says ‘Sage 200 provides us with the information regarding sales and profit margins along with the analysis of products and resources meaning we can direct our internal resources to the areas in the business that are both the most profitable and also to the areas that are dictated by the marketplace at any time. The system has also helped our business to improve the level of customer service we provide to our customers in terms of the information we can provide to them as well as the slickness in handling requests and transactions.  This has made us more efficient and opened up opportunities for us based on this new information we didn’t have prior to taking on Sage 200.

We are confident that Sage 200 will continue to give us the visibility and competitive edge into the future’.
